Mengapa Belajar pada Norwegia?

Berikut salah satu isi diskusi yang saya sampaikan dalam sebuah mailing list yang saya ikuti mengenai belajar di Norwegia. Beberapa bagiannya ditambahkan / perbaiki dari versi mailing list-nya. Sebagai catatan, saya tidak / belum pernah merasakan belajar di negara ini, dan informasi dibawah adalah hasil sharing dengan rekan-rekan sejawat dan ulasan yang saya dapatkan dari berbagai website.  Selamat membaca.

Links and Info about Living and Studying in Sweden, Stockholm and KTH

Couple days ago I was asked by D, from KTH student recruitment to recommend some information and links that might be useful for student that will come to Sweden, or Stockholm and KTH in specific. They are currently making 4 regional web pages at KTH focusing on specialized information for students from Southeast Asia, China, Brazil and India. Thus they look for information from students come from these areas to help them on giving insight about information that new student might need, some sort of ‘local taste’ preference.

I was interviewed for video shooting as well couple days ago, though I have no idea why I was contacted, probably because I have submitted my answer when KTH made survey couple weeks ago. But I do not know for sure, It is fun anyway to get involve, so why not? I will add story and link about this interview later in this blog.

And regarding this list, I actually need some time to think about it and reply D’s email, as it was such long time ago when I was gathering kind of information like this before moving to Sweden. I do really want to provide what are really relevant, as it will be displayed at university webpage, thus I asked my colleagues as well, in case i miss some, but no such new information I got so far. So as time goes by, I have to answer the email, here is my list. I will add some later..

The 'T' Guy

Today I finally managed to come to a brief 1 hour speech held at Wireless@KTH. Actually I got my headache problem again since last night and not be able to come little bit early in the morning to office and doing my research. So when I arrived at that noon, I almost wanted to cancel my plan. But since the venue was at Wireless@KTH lab, Electrum building, means it is not so far away, I decided to hurry and attend the seminar. 

One day at Headquarter

Today is my officially first day at /// to do my research there. Actually I have already engaged for around 6 weeks by now with this work, but I sit at W@KTH lab as we still waited for G, our manager at /// that also my research supervisor, to prepare everything for us at ///'s office. So there in the morning, I came to one of the ///’s offices building around Kista. This actually the area of /// head quarter. I have been there before, couple weeks ago, when we were introduced by J, our teacher at KTH that also supervise my research, to G. Uhm, before I make you confuse, we are actually quite lucky as we have 2 supervisors, the first is J, the academic supervisor, and G, the industrial supervisor.

According to G, currently more than half of their employees are at Kista, while the other spread around several offices in Sweden, mainly for R&D. That number actually represents almost of 5-10% of Swedish population. That’s awesome right? I remember one of my friends told that working at /// is already like military office, since almost every one who ever live in Sweden, might probably ever work or at least with something relate to ///. That is amazing.  I call it nationalism :D

Catatan pemilihan Koordinator Pusat PPI Swedia 2012

Beberapa hari yang lalu, perhimpunan pelajar indonesia (PPI) Swedia baru saja selesai melaksanakan salah satu hajatan besarnya: pemilihan koordinator pusat 2012. Ingin juga menceritakan ini, karena aku terlibat sebagai salah satu penyelenggara, dan juga tentang sedikit 'special'nya momen tahun ini, karena pemilihan kali ini diikuti oleh seluruh anggota PPI yang tersebar di seluruh penjuru swedia, berbeda dari sebelum-sebelumnya dimana koordinator pusat dipilih berdasarkan mufakat koordinator-koordinator wilayah, yang merupakan perwakilan dari anggota PPI Swedia di masing-masing wilayah.

Jadi bagaimana aku bisa terlibat? Awalnya disuatu sore, ketika ditanya apakah ingin bergabung dengan BAPILU (Badan pelimilihan umum), yang kebetulan sudah dibentuk beberapa waktu sebelumnya. Dan ingatan ini terlempar pada saat beberapa tahun lalu.
